At Laguna Lane, I’m all about adding a little special into the everyday of life. That means I focus on small ways to make life a bit more meaningful without spending lots of time or money. And a PhD in crafting isn’t required either! Read on for easy ways to make Christmas special.
Make Christmas Special
Check out some of my Christmas ideas below that you can do anytime this month (including after Christmas – I won’t tell!!). These posts will help you get your shopping wrapped up, serve others, and create some awesome keepsakes you’ll treasure for years to come.
1.Record an annual Christmas video – I listed this first because it’s my favorite tradition! It allows me to capture in just a few minutes who my child is that year. And I think a compilation video with each year’s recordings will be so special (and hilarious!) in a few years.
2. Wrap up your shopping with my tech gift guide and kids gift guides – There are some seriously unique and fun ideas in these gift guides for both kids and adults! Finish your shopping and go relax with some hot cocoa!
3. Take easy & impressive photos in front of the Christmas tree – These easy tips will totally up your game when taking photos by the tree.
No professional camera required!
4. Set out a delivery driver snack basket – Spread some love to those tired delivery drivers working so hard to make Christmas happen for everyone! All you need is my free printable, a basket you have around the house, and some packaged snacks! P.S. The packaged cookies went a lot faster last year than my pretzels and granola bars this year – ha!
5. Create a Christmas handprint & footprint keepsake canvas – The next time you’re at a craft store getting Christmas gifts, add a blank canvas and a few bottles of paint to your basket. In the slow days after Christmas when the kids are still out of school, create this adorable Christmas scene with their handprints and footprints. I display mine every year!
And psst… When Christmas is over, don’t toss all of those beautiful photo cards. Turn them into a Christmas card book that you’ll enjoy for years to come. All you need is a hole punch and binder rings .
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
