Homemade Pumpkin Creamer – Make It In 5 Minutes!

Did you know you can enjoy the flavors of fall in your coffee with a homemade pumpkin creamer?  It only takes 6 ingredients and 5 minutes of your time!

Breaking Up with Traditional Coffee Creamers

Some of you may recall that after I read the ingredient list of my Coffeemate / International Delight coffee creamers, I decided to make a change.  Hint: The primary ingredients in those creamers is water, sugar, and oil.  I drank those creamers for years, so I’m certainly not judging!  But if you’d like to venture into making your own creamer, this is a fun place to start!

I’m no health nut, but I’ve been trying to make small and manageable changes over the years for my health and the health of my family.  Anyway, since I wrote that blog post, I’ve been primarily enjoying almond milk creamers.  Because I have yet to find a pumpkin spice almond milk creamer (please let me know if/where you’ve seen any!), I decided to make my own!

Making Homemade Pumpkin Creamer

The word “homemade” can be a little intimidating, but rest assured there is no cooking involved!  Only measuring and shaking, and you’ve got that!

I like that the recipe I got from MrsHappyHomemaker.com only has 6 ingredients.  That’s 6 ingredients that make sense in coffee creamer and no strange chemicals or oils.  I hesitate to call this recipe “healthy,” as it does contain a can of sweetened condensed milk.  But isn’t that what makes it so good?!

Pumpkin Creamer Recipe

  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 3/4 cup milk or cream (I used 2% milk)
  • 3 Tbsp pureed pumpkin
  • 4 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

I put all of the ingredients directly into my clean coffee creamer container, held the lid shut with my finger just in case, and shook it like crazy!  That’s it!  Store it in the refrigerator, and give it a good shake before using it each time.

I put the leftover pureed pumpkin in a container and froze it to use in this recipe throughout the fall.  I could probably drink a cup of this creamer by itself, which is always a good indicator!

Grab your favorite mug (mine is below!), add some coffee and pumpkin creamer, and enjoy a taste of fall.  And if you live in Houston like me, stand in front of the air conditioner vent and pretend it’s cool outside – ha!
