School may look very different for your family this year. But there’s no reason to stop those adorable first day of school photos! Use this sign to document the first day of online school, or hold on to it to celebrate the first day of in-person school. Or both!
I updated my farmhouse First Day of School Signs for 2020-2021, so they’re ready no matter when school starts for you. It’s a free printable! Download it, print it, and you’ll have one less thing to think about as school approaches.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SIGNS 2020-2021
I designed and debuted my First Day of School signs three years ago, and I just love the simple and rustic style.
I temporarily pop them into simple white frames for first day photos, and I think the pictures turn out so cute! It’s a tradition in our family to take these photos every year.
These First Day of School signs 2020-2021 are available for download in a PDF file, which goes from Preschool all the way through 12th grade. There’s also a generic “First Day of School” sign without a grade.

Find which page/grade you need. Then print the sign on card stock, or temporarily put it in a frame. Either option makes it easier for kids to hold without the paper bending or getting wrinkled.
COORDINATING FARMHOUSE KEEPSAKE BIN PRINTABLES
The First Day of School signs also coordinate beautifully with my free keepsake bin printables! Keepsake bins are the perfect way to organize and manage all of your child’s artwork over the years. I created keepsake bins for my kids a couple of years ago, and I absolutely love them! Here’s one of the file folders for a past school year. My post has the printables as well as step-by-step instructions and a shopping list.

P.S. I started an annual tradition of a Back to School Interview three years ago, and I love how it captures their little personalities. Get the free interview printable and be ready for those first days of school!
Thank you for the free download! Have any others mentioned it printing black under the wreath and no writing?
Thank you
Please try opening the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and printing from there. If you open and print it from a browser, it may not print properly. Thanks for visiting!
These are great!Beautiful! Is there anyway that you could include a “First Day of Daycare” in this pack for younger siblings so that they could match too? 🙂
Hi Kristen – I included a “First Day of School” sign for situations like that where a grade doesn’t apply. I’d be happy to make you a “First Day of Daycare” sign if you’ll message me on Facebook – facebook.com/lagunalaneblog. And that’s a great idea for my future “First Day” signs! Thanks for visiting!
