What teacher wouldn’t love a cute tote bag filled with summer goodies to send them into summer? I posted last week about making a framed fingerprint craft for the teachers, and I’m bundling that into a fun summer tote bag. My son’s preschool class decided to contribute to a group gift from all the children, so we were able to put together a nice assortment of goodies. If you’re doing a gift from just your child, you could scale this idea back to a smaller bag with a couple of items inside.
I started with these cute monogram tote bags from Kirkland’s. The metallic gold on these bags makes them look like they cost a lot more than $15! They’re big and roomy and would be perfect for taking to the beach or pool. The ties on the side are a cute idea too, since they can slim the bag down or allow it to open up for lots of cargo.
Next, I added matching cosmetic bags ($5 from Kirkland’s) with a travel bug spray perfect for a purse ($4.40 from Target) and a fun lip balm with SPF in a tropical scent ($1.99 from Target). I’m also adding in a Target gift card with the leftover collected funds.
These big notepads were too cute to pass up at Kirkland’s ($6). They’re large enough to handle a note to a friend or a grocery list, and the design and gold edging is so pretty!
What summer tote bag is complete without a beach towel?! These Tommy Hillfiger towels have a colorful tropical leaf design and are so soft! $12 at Marshall’s made them a good deal!
I loved that these little candles came in fun summer scents ($4 from Target). There were several to choose from, but these were my favorites. Fun!
Here’s what everything looks like all together.
To tie it all together, I made these gift tags and printed them on some pink card stock I already had. Download the free gift tags in PDF format here.
These bags are stuffed and ready for the last day of school! If only I was ready for school to be out!! 😉
