Sweet Pink & Grey Little Girl Bedroom Reveal

They say September is a bit like January. It’s a month of new beginnings and fresh starts as summer vacations wrap up and many head back to school. On that note, I’m revealing our daughter’s redecorated bedroom! She’s almost 5 years old, and the pink and grey color school is precious for a little girl bedroom. And don’t miss the shopping guide at the bottom of my post!

As I’ve said before, Laguna Lane isn’t a decorating blog. But as I share my journey with you, I like to share the bigger projects and before and after photos. (Check out our kitchen update from last year.) I hope you draw inspiration from our little girl’s bedroom, which I worked hard to do on a budget.

Before Redecorating

Before redecorating, my daughter’s bedroom consisted of a border & paint colors that was there when we bought the house, blue curtains I’d bought for her older brother’s nursery, and the furniture from the crib set. The furniture placement was awkward because of a pre-existing shelf attached to the wall. As you can see, a lot needed to change.

Little Girl Bedroom Reveal

If it had been up to my daughter, every single item we put in her new room would have been pink with a few pops of purple. I think we hit a good balance of girly and neutral, and it will grow with her for years to come.

It’s hard to tell this is even the same little girl bedroom! As you can see, only some accessories made the transition from before to after. I am in love with this room and tease my daughter that I would live in it.

I love the custom look of bedrooms with built-ins on either side of the bed. My husband talked me down from that crazy project, and I settled on matching dressers and floating shelves.

This window seat is perfect for gazing out the window, and it also hides A LOT of toys in the gray bins.

The Details

This is a regular cubby storage piece turned into a window bench with a DIY cushion.

We cut a piece of plywood the same dimensions as the top, glued on thick foam, covered it in fabric, and stapled it in place. I chose a gray fabric with a tweed-like look to better hide any stains that might happen and to coordinate with the bins and wall color.

This canvas wall art was the inspiration for my room colors. I love the simplicity of it, and the gold, pink, and purple colors.

The bow holder made it from her previous room. I made this with a canvas, batting, fabric, ribbon, and a staple gun before she was born. Super easy and so functional!

I’m adding a cute bed skirt with a pom pom detail this week. It will be the finishing touch!
