Do you ever procrastinate when there’s something you need to do but don’t want to do?  That’s me with this post.  In short, I’m signing off of Laguna Lane for now and won’t be writing any new posts in the near future. After 3 1/2 years of writing on my blog, I feel like my life is moving in a different direction.  But Laguna Lane has been like my third child for so long that it’s hard for me to write the words to make that official.

As my kids get older (my youngest will start kindergarten next year!), my life looks different than it did 3 1/2 years ago.  I have less time at home with preschoolers and spend more time involved in church, community, and our elementary school.  But doing service projects as a family and doing small things to make our days more special – two core Laguna Lane values – will always be a part of our lives.  I hope the same will be true for you, and that Laguna Lane will continue to be an inspiration and a resource.

LagunaLane.com and all of my past posts will remain up and available.  I just won’t be writing many new posts or sending emails…at least for the near future.  I plan to continue making my annual “First Day of School” printable signs and posting them – you just won’t get an email about it.  So be sure to follow Laguna Lane on Facebook to see that – facebook.com/lagunalaneblog.  

I’m so grateful for each and every one of you reading and supporting my blog.  You have given Laguna Lane life and breath, and you’ve been such an encouragement to me.  There are thousands upon thousands of blogs out there, and that you chose to follow mine means more to me than I can describe.

Running a blog site is not for the faint of heart.  I’ve learned and grown so much that I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but it turned out to be so much more complicated and time-consuming than I ever imagined. I found myself doing as many technical tasks as I have writing posts.  It really made me appreciate the fact that I was a software consultant prior to staying home with my kids. Some things I did in the blogging backgroud… I linked printable downloads with my Mailchimp mailing list, migrated the site from one platform to another, integrated Google ads (it earns much less than you’d think!), learned to do my own graphic design, and read more about blogging strategy than I’d ever like to do again.  

It’s not an easy world in blog-land, so if you know anyone else running a blog, go give them a big high five and a word of encouragement.  But it’s been so empowering to know that I created and ran this site all on my own and reached so many beautiful readers!
