Tech Gift Guide

  1. Noise-cancelling earbuds – These earbuds are great for anyone regularly in a noisy environment, whether working out at the gym, taking mass transportation, or working from home with loud kids in the next room.  Try these on your next flight to eliminate all of the engine and background noise. You’ll arrive at your destination calmer and more rested.  If you’re looking to splurge, it’s hard to beat Bose’s noise-cancelling headphones.
  2. Wall Outlet with USB Ports – Make charging simpler with a wall outlet that has two built-in USB ports.  Use the USB ports for charging devices, and the electrical outlets will be free for other needs.  Screwless and easy install.
  3. External Battery for Charging Devices – Keep this small and portable battery charged and with you, and you’ll never worry about your phone or other device running out of battery before you get back home.  I have this exact battery and love how compact it is!  Once you have one, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
  4. Echo Dot – The compact cousin of the full-size Echo, it’s a hands-free, voice-controlled way to play music, set alarms, control other smart home devices, and use it’s numerous skills (news, ordering, audiobooks, games, etc.).  Simply give it your WiFi information and Amazon credentials, and it’s ready to go!  I have the full-sized Echo, and it’s wonderful for playing music.  Amazon Prime gives you access to thousands of songs and stations on Amazon, and it also works with Pandora, Spotify, and more.
  5. Phone Camera Lenses – Do you know someone whose primary method of taking photos is with their smart phone?  A cheap and easy way to increase the photo quality is with an external lens.  This particular set includes a fish-eye lens, a wide-angle lens, and a macro lens for detail shots.  Clip it on when taking a photo, and unclip it when you’re done.
  6. Tile Mate Anything Finder – This is the perfect gift for anyone who misplaces their keys, wallet, etc. on a regular basis.  So pretty much anyone with kids – ha!  Just attach the Bluetooth tracker to whatever gets lost in the shuffle, and an app on your phone helps you locate it.  If you lose your phone, just press the Tile button to make it ring twice regardless of silent or vibrate settings.  Versions include a simple key ring tile, a graphite masculine key ring tile, a feminine gold key ring tile, and a slim tile to fit in a wallet.
  7. Portable Water-Resistant Bluetooth Speaker – Listen to music anywhere with this rechargeable and portable speaker.  Use it in the shower, outside, or on-the-go, and don’t worry about whether it stays dry.  My husband uses his frequently, especially when working in the garage or in the yard.
  8. Digital Photo Frame with Email Capability – Instead of giving a framed printed photo, why not give a frame that can always be updated with the latest photos?  Send photos to the frame by email, and they will automatically appear.  You can set up the frame to turn on and off at specific times.  Or it can come on based on a motion sensor.  This is a great gift for grandparents or for a parent’s office desk.
